Non-Contact Multi-Turn Rotary Encoders

Novotechnik is advancing the state of the art with its RSM2800 series of miniature multi-turn magnetic encoders.

These encoders combine accurate angle measurement across multiple turns with compact size and low cost. They also measure and retain angle and turn information when power is removed. The RSM2800 magnetic encoder does all this without any batteries.

Unlike optical encoders, the RSM2800 is sealed to IP65, so it is virtually impervious to condensation issues; and at less than 50 ppm/K temperature changes have minimal effect on its performance.

Applications range from industrial motion control (see applications on Raymond fork lift truck) to medical scanning devices to automotive.
